As it was spring time at last, the weather was fairly warm that day though the wind still blew as strong as ever and cooled the classrooms quite a bit. Aaron had woken late that morning and had hurriedly made it to his first class just in the nick of time. The night before, he had been engrossed in a novel he had purchased from a second-hand bookstore in Diagon Alley. Quite honestly, he had only gone to Diagon Alley a few days before for a new robe as his current one had suffered many stains on his behalf and, though he could have easily just used magic to get rid of the stains, he did not think it would make him any less of a klutz if he were to keep using magic to get rid of stains. What if his wand wasn't always by his side? What then? Besides, it was always a good thing to have an extra robe handy, wasn't it? That was what his mother said all the time anyway. Actually, she encouraged him to buy much more clothes than he really needed which he didn't think was practical.

Money wasn't a problem for Aaron, he came from a very privileged family, after all. However, he was unusual in that he did not spend his money on lavish things but tried his best to stay normal and didn't care at all for the money he had inherited and that rested, collecting dust, at Gringotts. Money was at his disposal, he just chose not to spend it all the time. Still, that didn't mean his mother didn't fret about him as if he were still a five year old child instead of a twenty-four year old man. In her eyes, he was still a baby which did annoy him sometimes but, nevertheless, he could never deny his mother anything. She simply never believed that he was safe enough, warm enough or ate enough. She always made it her responsibility to make sure he was dressed properly therefore she advised him to buy anything he liked for his comfort no matter the price. Aaron also spent a lot of his day offs over at the family home out of his mother's request. He was a mamma's boy, yes, but how could one say no to their mother? Aaron certainly couldn't. He was a good boy, a mamma's boy. What made it worse was that he was aware that he was a mamma's boy and reluctantly accepted it.

Looking slightly disheveled and still tired from the morning's rude awakening, he scanned his tired eyes over the agenda for the class. He had taken the position of Potions again as no proper substitute was called for and the real professor had been absent again. When he had taught the previous class, he had found it rather fun and enjoyable, therefore, he had taken the class again mostly for his pleasure. He had found teaching much more interesting than before and figured it could be fun to take on more classes as a substitute. Of course, he would have to be better at waking up in the morning if he wanted to be a good substitute. It wouldn't do if he always woke up like he did this morning: hurrying to put on some clothes, fixing his hair in a minute, tidying his room in less than five minutes, etc. Because he was so tired, having slept late last night, he was not as cheerful as he usually would have been. He had bags under his eyes and he often blinked his eyes to get some focus in them.

That day he had hastily put on a pair of jeans and a dress shirt that was half tucked into his jeans and half wasn't. He wasn't aware of this. He hadn't even had time to grab his new robe either, which was a great shame as it was new and he had wished to wear it for his second day of teaching. Aaron waited patiently for the students to arrive and settle down finally. He was at the front of the room, a tired smile on his eye as he looked about the classroom for a second, putting a finger to his lips to quiet them all down. Once the class was silent, he got up from the desk he had been sitting at in the front of the classroom and stood. "Hello everyone. As you can see, your professor is absent and I have returned to substitute this class. By now, I'm sure you all know who I am, therefore, we're going to skip the introductions and begin the class immediately," he began with a nod, absentmindedly running a hand through his hair. He glanced back down on the paper in his hand and looked up again at the class after a brief moment. "Looks like we'll be making the forgetfulness potion today. Turn to your textbooks for instructions on how to make it," he continued, setting down the paper on the desk. "Please let me know if you are confused about anything. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what this potion does by now," he added. "Whoever makes the best potion, wins points for their house. Everything you need is in this room. Begin!" he finished and waved his wand accordingly. All of a sudden, everyone's textbooks turned to the page on the forgetfulness potion and the instructions on how to make it. These were first years, he didn't completely trust them to be able to make a perfect potion so he began circling the room accordingly.
