Aaron sighed to himself mentally. All this time, it was a Lore. If only he had known earlier. If only he had spoken to someone earlier. He could have gotten proper training when he was younger. It would have made his whole life different. Would he have been happier? He wasn't too sure, but it would have definitely been better to know that animals were talking to you than spirits. The fear wouldn't have been there. Fear of spirits, ghosts and being crazy. He wondered how his parents would have taken to it. He was their only son and maybe having a Lorist son would have changed them a little. Would it have made them spoil him more? He wasn't sure how that could have worked. They had already spoiled him so much he could remember his room being full of toys and other useless junk.

He shook his head as if still disbelieving the fact that he had a Lore. However, he wasn't. He was thinking about all the things he could now do with his new Lore, which wasn't much. Though, of course, he wasn't regretting having a Lore. It was just, listening to animals didn't have any helpful point as a counselor. Maybe he was getting too greedy and ungrateful now. He should just be happy with what he got. This didn't mean he had forgotten the fact that he had no idea where his Lore came from. He knew his parents and his grandparents didn't have Lores. He was sure his extended family didn't either. So, why did he possess one? He realized he would have to ask his parents later, maybe send them an owl. The Christmas holidays would be a good time for telling them all about his newfound ability.

Aaron nodded appreciatively as she spoke. "Thanks, I'll definitely look to you when I have any questions but only if I'm really stumped," he said with a smile, every inch of his body was soaking wet. He laughed a little and ran his hands through his already wet hair. "I really appreciate your help, Aaliyah. I would have lived the rest of my life thinking I was going insane, too afraid to tell anyone in case I was thrown in an aslyum," he said with a grin and realized that she had also gotten wet. Feeling a little guilty, he decided that it was best she get back inside before she got sick. "You should go inside. You don't want to catch a cold," he said, gesturing toward the school. Maybe he should stay a little longer. Experiment a little with his new Lore. Though he wasn't sure they would still be out at this time.

With a tired smile, Aaliyah nodded. The effects of the late hour were beginning to take their toll, and she was suddenly realizing how exhausted she felt. On top of that, she felt a bit miserable from coming back outside in the disgusting weather -- well, it was your idea, she reminded herself, blinking through the rain. Aaliyah wiped the water off her face as best she could. She knew she would never make Aaron come see her about anything. That was just downright mad, and not in her personality besides. She would be around as a confidant of sorts, if something was a bit over his head.

Aaliyah thought for a moment. She might wind up popping into Aaron's office from time to time just for a chat. She'd never really been the person to spill every detail and all their feelings about life and whatever, but she certainly knew keeping things all to herself all the time was a bad idea. And besides, she liked Aaron. He was easy to talk to... cute.... Where had that come from? He was a colleague, that was all. Apparently her sleep-deprived brain was already drifting into dreams. Aaliyah blinked. He was talking. Something about going inside before she got sick. If she'd been any more awake, Liyah would have snapped back with some kind of retort about how girls weren't that weak; he could wind up sick just as easily as she could.

But there was no strength for her to protest at the moment. "Alright, fine," she replied, smothering a yawn. "But you should turn in soon as well. It's pretty late, even for nocturnal standards." She turned back towards the castle, figuring he'd probably be in after awhile of hunting around. She doubted any sane creatures would still be out in the weather, but he could always have some fun with that bowtruckle. Grinning to herself at the thought, Aaliyah turned back toward him, halfway up to the castle. "Good night." Then she resumed walking, grateful to pass through the heavy oak doors to the dry, warmer-than-outside castle.
